Message to Parents & Students

I am honoured to introduce myself as the principal of Royal SCITS Academy! Having grown up in
Sarnia I am thrilled to be part of such a positive and much-needed new learning environment.
Offering families in Sarnia an alternative avenue for their child’s education in a respected and
historical building within our community is truly a gift. As an educator and OCT Teacher with seven-
plus years of teaching experience, working within the public school system I understand the
challenges that students and parents face with their children’s educational needs.

As the owner of Tutor Doctor where my tutors support local students with their academic struggles. I
have had many conversations with families about their children’s academic needs and how best to
support them. I know how personalized instruction and individualized attention can enhance a
student’s confidence in the classroom, extending beyond academics. Having played travel hockey
for the Sarnia Ladies Sting for years, I also understand how teamwork and athletics shape a person’s
character. I love that RSA offers both academics and an athletic program.

My teaching philosophy is based on providing students with a safe and caring learning environment,
where they are free to express their personalities and creativities with the support of their peers and
teachers. By fostering a trusting learning environment, students learn to collaborate effectively to
solve problems, allowing them to develop essential skills.

Creating a student-centred classroom where children can think critically and develop solutions to
contemporary societal issues equips them with the knowledge to become active agents in their daily
lives.I am excited to bring my passion for helping children succeed not only in their academics but
also in building their character because education isn’t just about academics; it’s about taking a
holistic approach through a team effort. That is why RSA’s three pillars for success—Academics,
Athletics, and Achievement—are perfect for our goals.
I am thankful for this opportunity and look forward to contributing to changing the lives of our
current and future students, showing them that they can achieve their dreams, whatever they may
be!
